The Department of Lands and Natural Resources serves the people of Duxbury by maintaining the Town's public lands, public buildings, athletic fields, open spaces, trees, trash removal, fuel depot and beach handicap access ramp. The department maintains an active program of trimming street trees, roadside mowing and athletic field mowing and maintenance.
We work with the Recreation, Conservation, Highway, School and Cemetery departments as well as many youth sports leagues.
We recently celebrated our 19th year as a Tree City USA. We also celebrated the naming of our Director of Public Works, Peter Buttkus, the Massachusetts Tree Warden of the Year in 2009.
