Engine 4
Engine 4 was a 1977 Mack custom 1,250 GPM pumper on a Mack CF600 cab forward chassis. This truck was powered by a 235 horsepower 6 cylinder turbo charged diesel engine with a 5 speed manual transmission and air brakes. It carried 500 gallons of water, 1,200 feet of 4” hose and a full compliment of firefighting equipment.
This truck underwent a complete refurbishing of the cab, replacement of body and water tank in 1986. Total cost of this refurbishing was $35,000.00.
Original cost of this truck was $66,793.00
Replacement cost would be about $ 325,000.00
This truck was decommissioned and traded towards the purchase of a new ladder truck in June 2003. (Above Photo by Rob Reardon)
