Old Ladder 1

new_ladder_1_drop.jpg
Ladder 1 was a 1976 Mack with a 100 foot steel aerial ladder manufactured by Pierre Thibault.  The truck was powered by a Maxidyne 235 horsepower 6-cylinder trubo-charged diesel engine with a 5 speed manual transmission and air brakes.  Ladder 1 carried 165 feet of ground ladders in addition to the aerial ladder.

Original cost of this truck was $72,878.00.

This truck was decommissioned and traded towards the purchase of the new ladder truck in September 2003.  Annual Town Meeting in March 2002 approved funding for a new aerial ladder to replace this old workhorse.  The new ladder truck has arived. See our new ladder
