Renting Tarkiln Community Center or Girl Scout House

Note:  Rental request forms must be submitted to the Recreation Department at least 14 days prior to the event.

The Tarkiln Community Center is available to residents and non residents for rental.  Groups/individuals may rent one hall (North or South) or the entire building for classes, meetings, parties, events, etc.  The building is heated & air conditioned.  There is no wifi available.  There are tables/chairs available in each hall.

Please download a Rental Request form and submit to the Recreation Department at least 14 days prior to your event.  Upon approval, renters must come to Rec office (22 Washington St.) the week of their event to pick up a key to Tarkiln.  A $50 security deposit check (that is returned when key is returned) as well as check for rental fee should be given on the day renter picks up key.  The key should be returned on the next business day after their event. 


Please note:  There are no candles, alcohol or smoking allowed in or around the building. There is also no dogs or animals allowed in the building. (Except for service dogs/animals).  The kitchen is not available to rent at this time.  Renter must clean the building (sweep/break down tables, etc...) before they leave.  All trash generated must be removed and taken by renter.  You make it - You take it.  
For those individuals/groups/organizations wishing to use Tarkiln for business purposes (i.e. classes), proof of liability insurance (naming the Town of Duxbury as an additional insured party) must be provided prior to rental.

Call the Recreation Department at 934-7034 for availability and more information.  Forms can be dropped off to the Recreation Office (22 Washington Street/Girl Scout House) or mailed to: Duxbury Recreation Department / 878 Tremont St / Duxbury, MA 02332. 


Girl Scout House:

The Girl Scout House is available to rent to residents only for meetings or small gatherings after business hours.  Call the Recreation Department at 934-7034 for availability.
Note:  As of July 1, 2017 per BOS vote, the new fee for use of Girl Scout House is as follows:  $20 (up to 3 hours), $10 any additional hour.

Please note:  There is no alcohol or smoking allowed in or around the building.  Renters are responsible for disposing of any trash that they accumulate during their rental time off site.
