TOWN OF DUXBURY - BEACH OPERATIONS

BEACH UPDATE 1/5/22

Happy New Year to all our beach patrons!

I hope this email finds you well and you enjoyed the holidays. A brief update below.

Powder Point Bridge

Work for this season is complete on the bridge. Please keep to the speed limit of 10 MPH which helps sustain our historic bridge for as long as possible

Parking Issues

Please remember that parking on the back road is not allowed. Parking at/in front the crossovers is not allowed. Parking on the back road is ONLY allowed in the pull-out areas. A valid sticker is required year-round. Rangers will be ticketing unauthorized vehicles in the ORV area.

Snowy Owls

We are experiencing some folks whose exuberance for the owls is creating havoc. Please remember to not harass the birds. Many times, you will see them at rest, and that is what they need. Please keep your distance and enjoy them respectfully. Stay out of all vegetation at all times.

If you experience or witness an issue (bird in distress?) and you feel you need to report this, please call the Beach Operations Administrator, Ryan Brown at 781-934-7034 ext 2. Ryan will receive phone messages via email if he is out of the office and can respond. You may also call the supervisor on duty at 339-236-4183 – Wednesday through Sunday, and leave a message and they will respond when they can.

Let’s work together to insure these awesome wild birds have a safe and healthy visit to our beach.

THANKS

I wanted to say thank you for those who helped clean storm debris from the front beach over the past month. An entire large construction dumpster was filled with items our awesome patrons and Beach Rangers removed and it is much appreciated!!
