DUXBURY BEACH OPERATIONS

BEACH UPDATE #2 – 11/24/21

Hello again Duxbury Beach Patron! I apologize for a second email so soon after the one I sent you all Monday, but I am writing to ask for your help.

BEACH DEBRIS

The recent storms dating back to the end of October deposited a large amount of debris on the beach from Blakeman’s to the third crossover.

Lobster traps, trash and a boatload of “junk” found its resting place on our wonderful beach.

I am reaching out to you all to ask for your help in cleaning up this mess. I hope you might lend a hand?  Here is the plan:

Each day when the crossovers are open we are asking that if you come to the property that you grab some of the junk and get it off the front beach. Please bring it to the resident overflow lot (the dirt lot west of the paved resident lot), you will see a pile has started there. Just throw it on the pile and Duxbury Beach Reservation (the owners of the beach) will coordinate machinery and dumpsters to load and take these items away.

We do ask that you don’t go into dunes or vegetation with any vehicles please. Beach Rangers will be on duty daily to help with any questions and point you to the right area either north or south of the crossovers where the biggest need is.

Crossovers are open seven days a week 8 – 3:30, except for Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.

As a wise man once said - “Many hands make light work” – in our case many trucks and hands!

Thanks in advance for any assistance you can render. Hope to see you at the beach.

Happy Thanksgiving!
