Green Community and Sustainable Energy

Duxbury is a Green Community (a certification process through the Commonwealth), and adopted an Energy Reduction Plan aimed at reducing the carbon footprint of the Town government operations. The Green Community designation enables the Town to be eligible for competitive grant funding from the Commonwealth to implement the Energy Reduction Plan. The Planning and Facilities Departments work together to coordinate this program, and the Facilities Department oversees all implementation and coordination with the energy utilities and contractors.
