Absentee Voting for the All Elections in 2020 - Based on the current state of emergency in Massachusetts and legislation enacted on March 23, 2020 (Chapter 45 of the Acts of 2020), the following was added to the reasons for absentee voting: "for an election held on or before June 30, 2020 any person taking precaution related to COVID-19 in response to a declared state of emergency or from guidance from a medical professional, local or state health official, or any civil authority shall be deemed to be unable by reason of physical disability to cast their vote in person at a polling location".

November 3, 2020 - Presidential Election

The last day to register to vote to participate in the Presidential Election is Saturday, October 24, 2020.  

Polls open for voting at  7am and remain open until  8pm at the Lt. Timothy Steele Athletic Building, 130 Saint George St., Duxbury, MA 

Early Voting will be held at the Lt. Timothy Steele Athletic Building, 130 Saint George St during the following hours:

NOTICE OF ADVANCED
REMOVAL OF EARLY VOTED BALLOTS FROM ENVELOPES AND ADVANCED DEPOSITING OF EARLY VOTED BALLOTS
 In accordance with the Secretary of State Regulations 47.12 and under the provisions of section 7(k) of Chapter 115 of the Acts of 2020, the Town of Duxbury will be opening and/or depositing early voted ballots at the Lt. Timothy Steele Athletic Building, 130 Saint George St at the following sessions:  
     Sunday, October 25th             9:00 AM
     Monday, October 26th            9:00 AM
     Tuesday, October 27th            9:00 AM
     Wednesday, October 28th       9:00 AM
     Thursday, October 29th          9:00 AM
     Friday, October 30th               9:00 AM
 
 In accordance with the Regulations 47.12 and the provisions of section 7(k) of Chapter 115 of the Acts of 2020, no results shall be determined or announced until after the time the polls close on November 3rd.  At that time the results from the advance processed ballots will be added to the election day results and posted in a public place.
 
NOTICE OF NOVEMBER 3, 2020 STATE ELECTION
POST-ELECTION AUDIT
 
Under the provisions of Chapter 54, section 109A( c ), 3% of all of the precincts in Massachusetts must be hand counted as part of the audit process.  The law requires that precincts to be audited must be chosen in a random, publicly verifiable, non-computerized drawing supervised by the Secretary of State within 48 hours after polls are closed. 
 
At the drawing held on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at 11:00am, Duxbury’s Precinct 6 was selected for a recount.
 
The hand count of ballots will be held at the Duxbury Police Station, 150 Mayflower Street, Duxbury, on Tuesday, November 10th beginning at 9:00AM.
 
The audit is open to the public. Due to space limitations, if you are interested in attending, please contact the Town Clerk by email at kelley@town.duxbury.ma.us no later than Monday, November 9th at 5pm.

Presidential Election, November 3rd - The deadline to submit a Vote by Mail application or Absentee Ballot application for a mailed ballot for the November 3rd Presidential Election is 5pm on Wednesday, October 28th.

Early ballots for the Presidential Election must be postmarked by November 3rd and received by the Town Clerk's office no later than 5:00PM on November 6th in order to be counted in the final results.

Duxbury Voting Location:

All voting in Duxbury takes place at the Lt. Timothy J. Steele Athletic Building, located at 130 Saint George Street, Duxbury, MA 02332.
