Ethics & Conflict of Interest
In 2023, the State’s Ethics Commission launched their new online portal for the mandatory Conflict of Interest Training and the Code of Ethics Acknowledgment. This replaced the old website training and paper forms that you previously submitted to the Town Clerk’s Office.
The State’s requirements are still the same, but the way in which you will access and provide the information to us will change. All employees must complete the online training within 30 days of beginning public service, and every 2 years thereafter.
Please follow the instructions to complete the assignments for 2025. There is no need to print out the Training Certificate or Summary Receipt, as they will be uploaded to the portal and saved in our Town’s database. You will automatically get reminder messages, letting you know when you need to complete the assignments in the future.
- If you did not complete the requirements in 2024, you must complete the following steps:
- Visit the website: https://massethicstraining.skillburst.com
- You will be prompted to enter your name, email address, and select Duxbury as your agency/organization.
- You will receive an email and you will create a login.
- Upon logging in for the first time, you will see that you will have two courses assigned to you, the conflict-of-interest training, and the code of ethics acknowledgment for municipal employees. Please complete both.
Upon completion of your training, the Town Clerk will receive notification that it has been completed and can access the Training Certificate and Summary Receipt. The on-line training will take approximately 1 hour to complete. Do not forget to click on the Acknowledgment of the Ethics Summary as well. Once completed, no further action is necessary. You will receive an email confirming completion as well as the Certificate should you choose to print one for your records.
