Support Us

It's more important than ever to support the Friends of the Council on Aging so that we can best serve older adults when they need us most.

The Friends of the Duxbury Council on Aging is a nonprofit organization established to assist the Duxbury COA in providing services, resources, and activities for seniors in the Town of Duxbury. Thanks to your generosity, one of our accomplishments is ensuring Duxbury seniors have access to FREE transportation in Duxbury and throughout the surrounding towns. Last year, over 3,100 rides were provided for seniors, and that number is quickly growing. We have been involved with a variety of fundraising activities. Mark your calendars and join us!

  • COA Golf Classic, Monday, September 16, 2024 at the Duxbury Yacht Club. To sponsor a hole, or register for a foursome, click the Donate Button below and choose golf. The golf committee is looking for prizes for the live and silent auction for the reception/dinner after the golf. Please contact Candy Weiler or Chris Barry if you can help.
    • Golf $200 per person
    • Hole Sponsor $150.00
  • Annual Appeal,  November 2025
  • Black Tie Bingo, January 2025 (A COA Board fundraiser that raises money for the Interfaith Council)

Support the Duxbury Senior Center and donate to Friends of the Council on Aging. It’s easy, fast, and as quick as clicking the Paypal button above.

Although fundraising is our main mission, our volunteering extends to many other COA programs because we know how important the Center is to our friends and neighbors who need social services, rides to appointments, support in caring for a loved one, financial advice, and most importantly, the opportunity for social interaction.

There are more numbers from last year that tell the story of how vital the services are to the overall well-being of older adults in the community:

  • 14,195 affordable meals were prepared at the Duxbury Senior Center kitchen and 8,794 meals were delivered to the homebound the community
  • 200 days of respite were provided to caregivers while their loved ones attended the supportive Social Day program for adults with Alzheimer’s disease or a related form of dementia.
  • 372 Outreach contacts with seniors and caregivers were made through telephone calls, home and office visits.

Please consider naming the Friends as a beneficiary under your will or planned giving instrument. The beneficiary should be designated as “Friends of the Duxbury Council on Aging, Inc., a 501(c)(3) corporation organized under the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and having a principal address at 10 Mayflower St., Duxbury, MA 02332”.

Thank you for caring.
