MassDOT East Street Route 3 Bridge Project

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) hosted a Live Virtual Public Information Session on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at 6:00 PM for the upcoming D5 Bridge Bundle project.  Click here for the presentation slides.

The project encompasses six separate bridge rehabilitation sites, located at:

  • East Street over Route 3 in Duxbury
  • George Street over Copeland Drive in Mansfield
  • River Street over Plimoth Patuxet Highway and Jordan Road over Route 3 in Plymouth
  • Charge Pond Road over Route 25 in Wareham
  • Pickens Street over Route 140 in Lakeville

Construction scheduled to commence on May 6, 2024.           

MassDOT's contractor is expected to work in the right shoulder along Route 3 in the vicinity of East Street starting Monday, May 6th through Friday, May 10th. Work hours will be from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. On Sunday, May 12th the contractor is expected to switch to nighttime operations and close a single lane on Route 3 in the vicinity of East Street through Friday, May 31st. Nighttime work hours will be Sunday through Thursday nights from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM. The lane closure is necessary for crews to install shielding under the bridge.
