Summer Library Program 2024

June 1 - August 17
Read Renew Repeat Summer Program 2024

For kids ages birth-11, keep track of activity challenges through your paper log. We will be using a paper log exclusively this year. They are available to download through our website or printed out at the library.  Once 10 challenges have been completed, return your log to the children's room for a chance to win prizes. Challenges can be completed more than once. Examples of activity challenges including reading for 60 minutes, attending a library program, checking out a kit, and more!  Prizes this year include Lego sets, Slime kits, and a Cotton Candy Machine, just to name a few. All those who drop off at least one raffle ticket by August 17 will be entered into the drawing for the grand prize.

For teens and adults, log in the minutes you read using the Beanstack app or website. For more, complete challenges or write reviews for a chance to win prizes.

Grand Prizes:

Ages birth - 11: $50 gift card Rock Paper Scissors

Ages 12 - 18: Nintendo Switch

Ages 18+: Kindle Fire

FAQ

How do you draw kids' prizes?

When you have completed enough activity challenges for a raffle ticket (10), drop your log into one of the prize buckets. Remember to write down your contact information on the log. There will be multiple choices. The more logs you complete, the more chances to win. The grand prize this year for kids is a $50 gift card to Rock Paper Scissors. All registrants will be eligible for the grand prize as long as they put in at least one log.

How do you draw teen and adult prizes?

Beanstack raffles will be weighted electronic drawings based on the number of reviews, challenges, and books logged. All are due by August 17th. Prize winners will be notified.

Do you need to be a Duxbury resident to play?

No - anyone is welcome to participate, but prizes must be picked up in person.

But I am too young to reserve a museum pass!

Visiting a museum is better with a partner. Have your grownup reserve a pass and take you or try a local museum.

I am participating in the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program via Beanstack. Do those books count toward summer reading?

Yes! You can count the 1,000 books and the summer reading books concurrently. Books entered into Beanstack for the Kindergarten program will have to be added onto the paper log to be eligible for summer prizes.

Can I read the same books again and again?

Yes! Count every time you read, even if it’s your favorite book again, and again, and again…

"Read Renew Repeat" Statewide Summer Library Program is sponsored by the Friends of the Duxbury Free Library, the Massachusetts Library System, the Boston Bruins, and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners
