Library Cards

Library Card Application:

The Duxbury Free Library is part of the Old Colony Library Network (OCLN).  Patrons may apply for a library card at the Circulation Desk.  Identification with the applicant's address (e.g. a driver's license) is required in order to receive a card.  All residents of Duxbury are eligible, as are residents of any other community who do not already have an OCLN library card.  Patrons should notify circulation staff anytime there is a change in address, telephone number, or email.

Children & Students:

Children and students through grade 8 must have parent or legal guardian present with proof of residency in order to obtain a card.

eCard Online Sign-up:

You may also sign up for an eCard online.  Once you have your eCard number, please be sure to visit the circulation desk and have your eCard upgraded to a permanent library card.  If you already have a library card, please do not sign up for an eCard.

What is My Pin?:

The default PIN for all library cards is OCLN (not case sensitive).  If you wish to renew or place items on hold by logging into your account, for privacy reasons you may want to change your PIN, which can be done by logging into your account and choosing the “Personal Information” tab, which will show the menu option to “Change PIN.”  If you forget your PIN, you can call us at 781-934-2721 and press 2 and we can re-set it for you.

Checking Material Out:

All library materials are checked out at the Circulation Desk on the main level.  A patron must have a valid library card or a State ID with them to borrow materials.  We suggest downloading the Key Ring app to your mobile device for easy checkout. It is the responsibility of the patron to return all materials on time, pay all overdue charges, and to pay replacement costs for lost or damaged items that have been checked out on their cards.

Lost Cards

Lost cards can be replaced at the Circulation Desk free of charge.

For any questions, please contact the Circulation Desk at (781) 934-2721.
