Book Club Service
Register your book club at the Circulation Desk for a Book Club Card.
Give us a list of your selections and meeting dates and let us do all the work for requesting multiple copies of your selected titles. We will have them ready for pickup by your book club members 4 weeks in advance of your meeting. Each member of your book club can use their own Old Colony Library Network card to borrow a copy of that month's selected title.
Requests for books can be placed up to 1 year in advance. Advantage? Get in line for popular books earlier so that there is more of a chance for copies of the book to be available for all your book club members.
We keep a calendar of all books reserved for registered book clubs so that we can provide feedback if there are multiple clubs requesting the same book at the same time. We will also provide feedback if we think a book will be hard to get by your scheduled meeting.
To obtain a Book Club Card you provide:
- The name of your unique Book Club (e.g. "Duxbury Beach Readers")
- One Book Club Leader's contact information
- Name
- Phone number
- Email address
- The selected book titles and authors
- The number of copies needed
- The dates of your Book Club meetings
When copies of the selected book are available, library staff will email the Book Club Leader to notify that the titles is available for pickup by club members.
