Food Pantry
The Lions Share (Duxbury Lions Club) Food Pantry is available for Duxbury residents and the Pilgrim Pantry (Pilgrim Church of Duxbury) is available to residents of Duxbury and surrounding towns. For more information about these food pantries and a list of other food pantries on the South Shore, contact the Outreach Department at ext. 5730.

South Shore Community Action Fresh Food Stand at the Senior Center.  At the beginning of each month, the Duxbury Senior Centerwill pick up fresh produce from the South Shore Community Action Council (SSCAC) and create a farm stand for you!  The items will vary each month and we ask that you put your items in a “to-go” bag so we can keep track of how many people participated in the program. (We will send an email out letting you know when the stand will be open!)

The Health Initiative Program, also known as HIP, is an incentive program in Massachusetts. Families and individuals on SNAP are eligible to buy fruits and vegetables from participating vendors.  HIP puts money back on your EBT card when you use SNAP to buy healthy, local fruits and vegetables from HIP farm vendors.

The vendors closest to Duxbury include:

Marshfield: Farmers Market. 140 Main Street, Marshfield. Every between 6/3-9/30 from 2:00 PM-6:00 PM

Kingston: Grey’s Beach Park. The first Sunday of the month 8/7, 9/4, and 10/2 from 10:00 AM-2:00 PM.

Plymouth: Rye Tavern Farmer’s Market. 517 Old Sandwich Road. Mondays between 6/7-10/25 from 11:00 Am-2:00 PM.

Duxbury Senior Center Home Delivered Meals Program.  If you would like meals prepared for you and delivered to your home or picked up at the Senior Center—the Home Delivered Meals Program might be for you.

Cathy Dame, HDM Manager will perform an assessment to document your dietary likes and will determine the cost of the meal based on your ability to pay.  For more information about this program contact Cathy at 781-934-5774 x 5710.

Fuel Assistance

The Fuel Assistance Program provides low-income households with help paying home heating bills. The Senior Center offers assistance to Duxbury seniors age 60+ in completing and submitting applications to South Shore Community Action Council. Emergency Assistance & Holiday Food Baskets

The Duxbury Interfaith Council (DIC) provides emergency
financial assistance to Duxbury residents needing help with food, fuel, or other basic needs. The Duxbury Interfaith Council also provides holiday food baskets to those in need. School supplies and a campership program scholarships are also available to children of families in need. Contact the Duxbury Interfaith Council Outreach at (781) 934-8388.
