Aerial Spraying in Specific Areas of Plymouth County

MONDAY AUGUST 10

Due to recent detection of Eastern Equine Encephalitis virus positive mosquitoes, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources will be conducting aerial spraying in specific areas of Plymouth County , including Duxbury, beginning on MONDAY AUGUST 10 and will continue over several evenings.

The exact locations where spraying will occur are subject to change, and the final spray map for each day of spraying will be available each morning ahead of the spray operations.

Residents are encouraged to visit the Massachusetts Aerial Mosquito Spray Map webpage for the latest updates on spraying in our community. The ability to spray is weather dependent and may change and usually occurs from dusk up to shortly after midnight.

The pesticide used is called Anvil 10+10.  While no special precautions are recommended, residents can reduce exposure by staying indoors during the spraying, closing windows, covering small ornamental fish ponds during the night of spraying, and although it is not necessary to bring animals indoors during spraying, keeping pets inside will minimize their risk of exposure.
