About Us:

The Duxbury Board of Health consists of five members appointed for three-year terms by the Selectmen.  The passage of 2015 ATM Art. 19  added the appointment of  (1) one Alternate member to the Board of Health to be made by the Board of Selectmen for a 3-year term.

The Board meets on the third Thursday of the month unless otherwise posted.  Meetings start at 7:30 pm and are held in the Mural Room in the basement of Town Hall.

Under Massachusetts General Law and state and local regulations the Board of Health is held responsible for disease prevention and control, and health and environmental protection.  The Board of Health serves as the local arm of both the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection.
