DUXBURY BEACH UPDATE – 3/31/22

 

Hello Beach Patron, hoping this email finds you well! A few items for your consideration are below.

 

NEW BEACH PERMITS/STICKERS

As you know beach stickers expire 3/31/22. Stickers for the new season are for sale. You may purchase them in person at the Town Hall, Treasurer Department or online via City Hall Systems.

Permits for over-sand vehicles are required year-round. Beach Rangers on duty will enforce regulations requiring new permits on the beach for over- sand vehicles so please get your new sticker.

DOGS ON THE BEACH

As of April 1, of each year some more restrictive policies become effective in regards to dogs on the beach. Please  CLICK HERE to refresh your memory about these rules and regulations.

I would offer that the two major differences on dog rules as of April 1st are there are no dogs allowed on the front beach immediately east of the resident parking lot. There are also no dogs allowed north of the Powder Point Bridge on the bayside all the way to Blakeman’s. If you have a question about these regulations please speak to a Beach Ranger.

Beach Rangers will enforce rules and regulations concerning dogs on the beach. Remember all dogs on Duxbury beach must be leashed at all times and you must have a valid permit for your dog, these are available at the Town Clerk’s office at Town Hall.

 

CROSSOVER HOURS

Crossovers will be open depending on weather and tides. As a general rule for the month of April crossovers will be open from 8:30 am to 3:30pm Monday through Thursday, and 8:30am - 6pm on Fridays.  Saturday and Sunday crossovers are open 8 am to 8 pm.

 

BEACH OPERATIONS ADMINISTRATOR

Ryan Brown was hired a little over one year ago to be the first full time Town of Duxbury Beach Ops Administrator. Mr. Brown will be working a Thursday to Monday schedule this season.
