INFORMATION FOR VISITING DUXBURY BEACH

 

GETTING HERE
Depending where you park, you can get to Duxbury Beach two different ways.  For those with parking stickers (resident or oversand), the beach is best accessed via the Powder Point Bridge in Duxbury.  

Day parking (for non-sticker holders) is available at the Duxbury Beach Park and is best accessed by going through Marshfield (rt 139) and taking Canal Street to Gurnet Road in Duxbury. There is a per day fee (cash only) - Please click here for pricing. 

RULES & REGULATIONS
The Duxbury Recreation Department / Beach Operations oversees daily operations on Duxbury Beach and enforces the regulations pertaining to its use.

These rules are established to ensure that this precious natural resource will be preserved for endangered species and available to public access for future generations. Your compliance with these rules and regulations ensure that this will be a lasting treasure for all to enjoy.

PARKING
via Powder Point Bridge: BY PERMIT ONLY (purchase online through the Town of Duxbury)

Resident: (parking lot or oversand)
Non-Resident (oversand only).  Parking lot located across the Powder Point Bridge is for residents only. Parking lot located before the entrance of Powder Point Bridge is available to the public on a first come-first served basis. No permit is required. 

OVERSAND 
Oversand permits are available for Residents and Non-Residents. NOTE: Individuals who purchase this type of permit should own a 4WD vehicle (not AWD). 

Pay-Per-DayDUXBURY BEACH PARK.  No permit required.  Access via rt. 139/Marshfield 
Open Memorial Day through Labor Day, weather permitting
 

Accessibility
Handicap ramp access at Town Beach entrance across from Powder Point Bridge
Handicap ramp access at Duxbury Beach Park
Beach Wheelchair (Features floats and a five point safety strap.  Anyone wishing to use the chair can request it from a Beach Ranger at the Powder Point Bridge entrance). 
Mobility Mats (At Town resident lot and Duxbury Beach Park).
