DUXBURY BEACH OPERATIONS

BEACH UPDATE – 6/1/22

Hello Duxbury Beach patron, and current sticker holder, I hope this email finds you well. Please find below some important information about Duxbury Beach.

CROSSOVER CLOSURE DATES

We anticipate closure of Crossover #2 to be today, 6/1/22. We further anticipate Crossover #1 to be closed on 6/5/22. Parking for the beach will still be available for residents with current sticker in the resident lot and for non-resident over-sand with current sticker in the Northern Lot.

NORTHERN LOT FOR NON-RESIDENTS

As previously noted, when both crossovers have closed, which we anticipate will be on 6/5, a parking lot for non-resident over-sand vehicles will be made available. There are approximately 93 spots available on a first come first serve basis. Please take note of the attached map for the exact location. Please do not park in the resident lot or the Blakeman’s lot as you will receive a ticket. Finally, please monitor our Twitter page for up-to-date status reports of the availability of spots.  Also, due to the presence of endangered birds in this northern lot area dogs are not allowed.

STICKER SHENANIGANS

Unfortunately, we are finding some folks who are attempting to circumvent the rules in regards to stickers. Please remember that stickers are NOT TRANSFERABLE, cannot be given to your buddy, or otherwise shared. We will be forced to remove your beach sticker privilege if we encounter this, and refunds will not be provided.

REBAR and TWINE

You will note on the beach that there are areas with rebar (metal stakes) and orange twine strung between. This “fencing” denotes areas where birds are located. All activity is restricted inside these areas. Please keep out of these areas.

THANKS, FROM THE BEACH OPERATIONS STAFF

As I returned from an all too brief vacation this week, several staff members wanted me to include in my email how grateful they were to you all for the past few weeks conduct at the beach. Reading the news recently about unfortunate incidents at other areas beaches reminded me of how lucky we all are to not have that behavior impacting our leisure time at Duxbury Beach. Our staff was and is grateful to the vast majority of our patrons whom over the past few weeks have conducted themselves with proper decorum, during a very, very busy time.  So again, thanks for that!!
