Town of Duxbury - Beach Operations - Beach Update - 6/3/2022

Dear Beach Patron,

Sorry to be emailing you again, I forgot to add one piece of information to my prior email.

This information relates to the non-resident use of the overflow lot, which will certainly commence this weekend.

As you all know, as of Sunday, June 5th both crossovers will be closed to over sand vehicles.  Due to this development, as in past years non-residents with a current sticker will be able to use the Northern Lot. (See attached map).

The information I forgot to include for this year is due to the presence of threatened species near or around the Northern Lot, dogs will not be allowed in this area.  Therefore, non-residents with a current sticker who wish to access the Northern Lot cannot bring their dogs with them to the beach.  Staff has been directed by me to turn patrons away that have dogs in their vehicles.  I understand that this may be a slight inconvenience but we must adhere to the laws regarding threatened species.

Just a reminder that the Northern Lot is for non-residents with a current sticker and the 93 spots are available on a first -come first served basis. Please check our Twitter account regularly as we will update the status of open spots throughout the weekend.

Thanks for your attention to this matter.  Enjoy the weekend at the beach!
