DUXBURY BEACH OPERATIONS

BEACH UPDATE – 10/25/21

Hello Duxbury Beach patron. Hope this email finds you and your family well. It has been a while since my last email. The seasons are changing and the pace at the beach slows some with the onset of   crisp fall days and nights. I would anticipate probably a monthly email if necessary, going forward, until we get into the Spring of 2022.

POWDER POINT BRIDGE

As I am sure you have seen, the Powder Point Bridge repair project has begun. Currently the bridge is closed to all traffic, both vehicle and pedestrian. As that situation changes, we will update you through our Twitter account. If you have specific questions related to the project, it is best to direct them to our Department of Public Works Department who is managing this endeavor. Their contact information can be found on the Town of Duxbury’s website.

RAMPS, PORT – A- POTTYS AND SUCH

The access ramp with associated beach stairs and ramps has been dismantled for the season. You are welcome to walk over and view the beach of course but direct access to the front beach should be made via the main pedestrian access point or any pedestrian access pathways from the resident lot.

All port- a -pottys have been removed for the season.

CROSSOVER TIMES

Starting Monday November 1st, the crossovers will be open from 8 am to 3:30 PM seven days per week, weather and tides permitting.  Over-sand permits are required YEAR-ROUND. The resident lot is open for use by all.

OFF SEASON QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS

Beach Operations staff, assisted by the Harbormaster Department on Mondays and Tuesdays will be on property seven days a week throughout the off season.  Staff will be enforcing beach rules and regulations during this time. If you have any questions or concerns in the next several months, please feel free to reach out to: Ryan Brown Beach Operations Administrator at 781-934-7034 extension # 2.  Mr. Brown can also be reached at:  brown@town.duxbury.ma.us.

Hope to see you at the beach!
