Town of Duxbury - Beach Operations - Beach Update - 1/28/22

Hello Beach Patron,

Due to the impending weekend storm, we are asking that no vehicles visit the beach either Saturday or Sunday.  Clearly with 60-70mph winds coupled with potential 2+ plus feet of snow and astronomical high tides the beach will not be the place to visit for the next few days.

Emergency personnel and operations are not going to be put in danger trying to assist people who unwisely put themselves in harms way. Please respect this request, stay home for the weekend, and don’t visit the beach.  Maybe you’ll be able to get down there on Monday, but that will depend on the weather.

You should also note that the resident parking lots and the roadways on the beach are not plowed.  So even accessing those areas would be difficult and dangerous. 

We appreciate your understanding and hope you all stay safe and warm through the weekend.
