Town of Duxbury - Beach Operations - Beach Update - 08/05/2022

Hello Beach Patron, hope you are staying cool,

We are sending you this email so that you might have the most current information regarding the status of the crossovers.

Crossover #1 & #2
Crossover #1 & Crossover #2 remain closed due to the current avian status. We will update you via email, Twitter and our website when this status changes.

Crossover #3
Crossover #3 remains open. Starting Friday, August 5th we will be increasing vehicles allowed to 26 total, 13 resident and 13 non-resident. Beach Rangers will escort those 26 vehicles from the resident parking lot starting at approximately 8am.  Please adhere to all signage, fencing, cones and directives from Beach Rangers and stay within the allowed area.

In addition, the area at Crossover #3 has very soft sand along with pea stone, which make driving conditions very difficult.  Therefore, Beach Operations will only be allowing 4WD vehicles to access this area. AWD vehicles will not be allowed. Also, we highly recommend you air down your tire pressure to avoid getting stuck. 

Dogs
Dogs will now be allowed at Crossover #3.  Dogs must be leashed at all times and have a dog walking permit tag on their collar.  CLICK HERE to obtain this permit from the Town Clerk’s office.
